dc.description.abstract Deep seismic sounding with a total length of more than 8000 km was performed on 15 traverses through the Urals between 1962 and 1988. In addition, areal investigations have been performed in the middle and southern Urals. It is important to analyze these data in a uniform approach, thus providing a basis for all future integrated geophysical, geological, and geodynamic models of the Urals region. This analysis was done between 1979 and 1989 at our Institute and at the Uralgeologiya Corporation. Its chief results, other than the seismic sections, are presented in the form of a relief map of the top of the upper mantle.
