dc.description.abstract A previously developed software was used to process earthquakes recorded at different epicentral distances by an IRIS-2 digital seismic system. The following statistical uncertainty estimates of preliminary S-wave onset times were derived: the systematic bias E = -3.38 s, the rms deviation S = 8.33 s.
