dc.description.abstract Evidence from the Late Mesozoic Okhotsk-Chukchi Volcanogenic Belt confirmed the view of V.V. Averiev that 'the hot aqueous fluid should be regarded as the main agent in a special form of volcanism wherein explosive phenomena, magma extrusion, and hydrothermal activity are associations of different manifestations of a single process'. Basic lava effusions are incommensurably short-termed in comparison with hydrothermal activity and acid volcanism, which at the same time are closely associated with the rise of basaltic andesite magmas toward the upper levels of the Earth's crust.
