dc.description.abstract A new algorithm is presented for identifying foreshocks and aftershocks in an arbitrary standardized earthquake catalog, irrespective of the magnitudes, based on a space-time window approach in a wide range of magnitudes. The main loop of the algorithm is described in detail. An example of its operation is given using a data sample from the 1900-1990 earthquake catalog for the Caucasus.
