dc.description.abstract The intensity of seismic shocks in the Kiev region was estimated, using integrated historical, macroseismic and instrumental data. It was established that the maximum intensity of seismic shocks in that area was 5 on the MSK-64 International Seismic Scale (it was probably 0.5-1.0 higher in some places). This is the magnitude of destructive earthquakes in the Carpathians, concentrated around Vrancea as their focal zone. This article discusses the possible local level of seismicity. Lineament zones inside the city area were established through interpretation of remote-controlled survey data. Special studies are required for seismic zoning inside the city.
