dc.description.abstract | The present state and some trends for future development of absolute gravimetry are discussed. Attention is first of all paid to the systematic errors of absolute gravimeters. Accuracy of the Ukrainian-made, type GP-05 gravimeter was estimated from experimental data. It was established that the discrepancy between GP-05 and FG5 (USA-made) absolute gravimeters was ≈0.080 mGal. It was also established that a systematic over- estimation of acceleration due to gravity (GA) of ≈0.040 mGal was typical of the grade-1 'Kharkov' gravimetry station. The results obtained are discussed in this article. Taking the systematic errors into account, the final accuracy of absolute and relative gravity measurements with the GP-05 gravimeter is estimated as 0.010-0.015 and 0.020 mGal respectively. | |
