dc.description.abstract More than half an capital expenditure and operation costs is connected with crushing and grinding the ore in overall process of its treatment. Large consumption of electric energy is also required for crushing and grinding the ore. Strength characteristics of the ore are the determining factors in this process. High wear of technological equipment is observed in case of high strength characteristics, Microhardness of the ore reflects its genetic strength. Data on microhardness of ferruginous quartzites from Mikhajlovskoe deposit have been obtained. Opportunity for the use of the data for predicting the process of the ore preparation is discussed.
