Abstract:
This article reviews new data on the geological structure, geological-structural setting, and zonality of the Zgid deposit. Due to the discrepancy between the geological structure of the deposit atb the surface and at lower levels, considerable attention was paid to the distribution of vein lead-zinc mineralization and the structure of the Zgid deposit. For the solution of such a task, a revision of the geological map was made, and a new geometric framework of the deposit was suggested. As a result, the existence of the preore Kionsk overthrust, which defines the formation of the two-stage structure of the Zgid deposit, was revealed. This overthrust screens the main mass of ore mineralization within the autochthone. Since the predike time, the principal ore-localizing Verkhne-Zgid and Nizhne-Zgid imbricated faults developed as inherited structures. The development of tectonic structures and input of ore-bearing fluids were of a pulse-like nature and of unequal intensity during different stages of the deposit evolution. This defined the formation of zonality at the deposit.
