dc.description.abstract An integrated deep geodynamic model of the Pechenga ore district was previously developed on the basis of correlation of the Kola superdeep borehole section and surface geology (Kazansky et at., 1994). The model describes the modem structure of the Pechenga ore district to a depth of 15 km and localization conditions of ore deposits of the Karelian epoch. In order to expand the model to greater depths and determine the setting of the polymetallic ore mineralization atypical of the district, we used a tomographic model considering the materials for the Pechenga district and adjacent water area of the Barents Sea (Kazansky et al, 1999; Isanina et al, 2000). Finally, we have made a new step and revealed an uplift of the seismogeological crust-mantle boundary, correlated the geological and geophysical setting of the district with the mantle plume, and we obtained new evidence for the influence of structures of the Barents Sea shelf plate on the Baltic Shield.
