dc.description.abstract A special petrochemical type of diamondiferous igneous rocks is distinguished which belongs to the lamproitic branch of alkalic ultramafic rock family and differs from both kimberlites and lamproites. The rocks compose the Majhgawan pipe in Central India and pipes, dykes, and sills in some other regions. It is suggested that these rocks also occur in Prianabar'e, where they possibly serve as primary sources of placer diamonds.
