dc.description.abstract The study of the mechanical consequences of shorterm pulse- and shock-type impacts on geological media related to human activity (explosions) and tectonic processes (earthquakes) is one of the priority fields in modern geomechanics and seismology. The reliable monitoring and forecast of geodynamic processes in such conditions can be most effectively carried out using experimental methods based on physical models that unambiguously correlate recorded physical parameters with the investigated variations in the mechanical parameters. This article demonstrates that a number of dynamic processes occuring in geomaterials can be successfully indetified using data on variations in the power of infrared (IR) radiation from their surfaces.
