Abstract:
The long-term activity of the Mining–Chemical Plant (MCP) of the Federal Agency for the Atomic Energy of the Russian Federation (Rosatom) in Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk region resulted in pollution of the Yenisei River. The radiochemical study of bottom sediments of the Yenisei River revealed in its channel segments concentrations of transuranium elements (238Pu, 239,240Pu, 241Am) tens of times higher than the previously published data and 100 times higher than the global background value.
