This paper presents the results of numerical analysis of a confined explosion in an unconsolidated rock. Account is taken of taken of heat exchange between the detonation products leaking from the cavity with particles of the surrounding rock, and dilatant rock loosening behind the shock wave front. Calculations on confined explosions in highly permeable porous media with allowance for leakage of detonation products from the cavity and heat exchange between them and the particles of rock, as well as for dilatant loosening of the fragmented rock, agree with the experimental data.
