SHELL WALL MICROSTRUCTURE IN THE GENUS OBOLELLA BILLINGS (BRACHIOPODA, OBOLELLATA)

Abstract

The earliest type of wall microstructure of carbonate brachiopod shells is described in genus Obolella Billings, 1861. The microstructure is shown to be similar to that of modern craniids.
