A new relation is proposed to connect energy class KF68 and magnitude MS for Kamchatka, incorporating the corner point at KF68 12.5 in the recurrence relation for Kamchatka based on energy class KF68. The relation consists of two parts: MS = (1.33±0.08)KF-11.89± 1.16 (KF ≥ 12.5, Rc = 0.86) and MS = 0.610KF-2.904 (KF < 12.5). The former was found by directly calculating the orthogonal regression between KF and MS for 93 events, the latter was derived from a comparison of recurrence curves in class KF and magnitude MS.
