The allochthonous northwestern and central tectonic sheets of the Valaginskii Group have been studied in the eastern Kamchatka. Cherty rocks of the Poputnaya and Golubaya sequences yield here abundant radiolarians. The results of radiolarian analysis imply that both sequences accumulated concurrently in the late Campanian time. Data on taxonomic composition, morphology, and abundance rates of radiolarian taxa from the Valaginskii Ridge suggest that some of their assemblages populated an ecotone between the high-latitude and temperate zones.
