The reasons for and results of a revision of coarse-ribbed choristitids (predominantly those of Bashkirian age) are presented. The Bashkirian choristitids are considered as members of two subgenera of the genus Alphachoristites Gatinaud, 1949: A. (Alphachoristites) s. str., with the type species Choristites bisulcatiformis Semichatova, and A. (Prochoristites) subgen. nov., with the type species Choristites pseudobisulcatus (Rotai). In addition, some results of the revision of Choristites ex gr. lebedevi-uralica are given.
