Analysis of the taxonomic composition of planktonic foraminifers and oxygen isotope composition in their shells from the sedimentary core section V34-90, taken from the eastern slope of the Akademii Nauk SSSR Rise in the southeastern Okhotsk Sea, were used to investigate climatic and hydrologic changes in the basin for the last 20000 years according to radiocarbon dating. Periods of glaciation (20000-12500 years ago), deglaciation (12500-800 years ago) with a clearly expressed cooling event (Younger Dryas, about 10800 years ago), and postglaciation (last 8000 years) were distinguished.
