LATE ARCHEAN EVOLUTION OF THE JUNCTION BETWEEN THE BELOMORIAN MOBILE BELT AND KARELIAN CRATON, BALTIC SHIELD: EVIDENCE FROM NEW ISOTOPE DATA

Abstract

Late Archean rocks of the North Karelian system of greenstone belts and overlying Early Proterozoic sequence of the Kukasozero structure provide insights into the entire evolution of Early Precambrian tectonogenesis and the role of plate tectonic processes. This work reports the results of geochronological investigations of the Kukasozero structure framing, thus constraining models of Late Archean tectogesis.
