dc.description.abstractThe study of samples from collections from one of the geological provinces of the Ukrainian shield that formed under different pressures and temperatures revealed a clear-cut connection between distribution features of elastic characteristics of a number of minerals and their geostructural nature. We found that rock elastic parameters may serve as a diagnostic indicator of the presence of a fault-block structure near the zone of a deep fault confining considerable inhomogeneities in stress and heat field distributions. The analysis of all geologo-geophysical information and the results of a PT-study of physical parameters of the rocks along a section of the deep seismic sounding profile served as a basis for the development of the method and a version of the velocity profile in the upper lithosphere that would undoubtedly complement seismic data.
