NURISTAN-SOUTH PAMIR PROVINCE OF PRECAMBRIAN GEMS

Abstract

Isolation of the Nuristan-South Pamir mineragenic province comprising metamorphogenic gem deposits is based in the limits of outcrops of Precambrian metamorphic sequences. The formation of the deposits was analyzed on the basis of their mineral composition and genesis. It was established that type and genetic diversity of gem formations was dominated by specific composition of the premetamorphic sedimentary rocks and by the intensity of their metamorphic transformation in the Precambrian.
