The paper discusses a technique for successive visualization of the geoelectric section along vertical planes intersecting the three-dimensional geological medium. An image of the medium is obtained by successively scanning downward along specified vertical planes and combining the images of individual vertical layers into a single three-dimensional model of the medium. The problem of electromagnetic tomography consists of constructing a series of images of vertical sections through the medium that reflect the specific resistivities of the layers and the forms of the boundaries separating them. This paper formulates the main principles of electromagnetic tomography.
