On the basis of the paleomagnetic study of 300 dykes of various composition and with ages ranging from 2300 to 600 Ma, it is established that the peri-equatorial position of the Ukrainian Shield for this time span was rather stable, with latitudes displaced by no more than 30°. At the very beginning of the Riphean, the Ukrainian Shield was turning counter-clockwise at a rate of 0,05°/1 Ma.The drift of the Ukrainian Shield in the Proterozoic is not conformable with that of the Baltic Shield. The former is more mobile structure than the latter. This implies a new viewpoint of the consolidation of the basement of the East-European Platform.
