On the basis of new data we have confirmed our previous conclusion as to the extremely high level of biological activity in the Precambrian. On the other hand, linking this new fact with our previously established fact of the clear connection of the global epochs of accumulation of high-carbon-containing deposits with the main stages in the evolution of the 'living systems' themselves, we can arrive at the essentially new conclusion that evolution itself was considerably more intensive in the Precambrian.
