dc.description.abstractA new concept 'gyrotropy of rocks' introduced earlier in the context, of a phenomenological theory is substantiated by constructing a model on a microlevel. This paper presents a model of a dissymmetric grainy medium with gyrotropic properties, on a macrolevel, as a result of the displacement of spherical grains in each column of the cubic packing in the same azimuthal direction: clockwise or counter-clockwise. Mathematical simulation of a stressed state has been performed to determine the gyration constants of the model as the parameters of its microstructure dissymmetry. The obtained results are in good agreement with the seismic experimental data. Gyrotropy, as well as anisotropy, provides a principle possibility to recognize a microstructure of rocks through large-scale observations of seismic waves.
