THE MOSAIC IN REFLECTIONS FROM THE EARTH'S SOLID CORE BOUNDARY

Abstract

The presented experimental data indicate the mosaic character of reflecting properties at the boundary between the inner and outer core. This may be related to the rugged topography created by the ascending and descending convective flows of material in outer core or the higher temperature of domains in the inner core where the anomalously high amplitudes of reflected waves are detected.
