The new data presented indicate the need to revisit the estimates of the estimates of the earthquake potential of the Oka-Zhombolok fault zone, and improve seismic zoning maps for the eastern Sayan region. The indication that left-slip movement occurred repeatedly in the zone of this fault suggests that the fault had this type of kinematics (shear with a normal-fault component) throughout the neotectonic stage and make it possible to reconstruct more reliably and soundly the current tectonic stress field.
