Gabbro-monzodiorite plutons in different parts of Mongolia are lumped together with the granitoid bodies intruding them into the gabbro-monzonite-granosyenite, monzonite-granosyenite-granite and other rock associations, which are dated as Carboniferous or Permian. Geologists are studying this series of intrusive rock associations because of the genetic relationship of copper-molybdenum mineralization to it. K-Ar dating of the three gabbro-monzodiorite intrusions studied revealed their different age.
