In this communication, we present a new method of earthquake prediction (algorithm M8S) that provides prediction for territories several times larger than the source of the predicted event and over a magnitude range of about unity. Algorithm M8S is an intermediate-term method; i.e., it determines alarms over a time span of a few years. This algorithm is aimed at spatial stabilization of the prediction obtained with algorithm M8.
