The subject of this paper is the hydrochemistry of the mixing zone of the Yuriev River water (Paramushir I.) and sea water and the behavior of some trace elements in it. Extensive data of land and marine surveys are reported. The hydrochemical structure of the Yuriev estuary has been studied for the first time, including trace element fractionation between the water and the suspended material. It is shown that the suspended matter is controlled by variations in the acid-alkali characteristics of the mixing zone.
