HEAT FLOW ESTIMATION FROM HELIUM ISOTOPES IN GROUNDWATER GASES IN THE BAIKAL RIFT ZONE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

Abstract

Heat flow values in the southern regions of East Siberia are correlated with the ratios of helium isotopes contained in groundwater gases. Correlation between these independent parameters provides objective comprehensive characteristics of geodynamic conditions in the region and of its thermal evolution.
