In order to better understand the functioning of the Earth's climatic system and forecast its changes, it is necessary to investigate the contribution of different natural and anthropogenic sources to the global methane flux and rate of its increase [5]. In our study we used the known results of methane concentration measurements to determine its global flux in the Earth's atmosphere. This provides the observed altitude distribution of methane concentration with account for the oxidizing ability of the atmosphere.
