GEOPHYSICAL INVESTIGATIONS OF SUBMARINE BELYANKIN AND SMIRNOV VOLCANOES (KURIL ISLAND ARC)

Abstract

This paper presents the results of geophysical measurements that were performed above the Belyankin and Smirnov submarine volcanoes during cruises of the R/V Vulkanolog. The morphology of the volcanoes, the distribution of bottom sediments, and the pattern of magnetic anomalies are described. The age of the volcanoes is inferred.
