The tourmaline group contains numerous end members and varieties (schorl, dravite, elbaite, etc.) with specific proportions of the main components. In addition, tourmalines contain a broad range of admixed elements, generally present in very small concentrations of less than 0.1 percent, but reaching 1 percent in the case of Ni or Sn, and sporadically 2 to 3 percent in the case of Zn. This paper reports on the miarolitic pegmatite of the Malkan Range (Central Transbaikalia), in which tourmalines were found with unusually high contents of Bi and Pb.
