ON PECULIARITIES OF VEIN SUITE OF KUZNAVOLOK MASSIF ALKALINE MAGMATITES (TURIY PENINSULA)

Abstract

The paper describes the results of research of the alkaline-ultramafic complex in Turiy peninsula. In the course of the research ijolite veins of the late alkaline series of the complex have been investigated. These bodies cut garnet turjaites of Kuznavolok massif, causing the increase of rock granularity along contacts. The morphology of these bodies shows their intrusive genesis. The chemical composition of veins differs from that of other bodies of the second alkaline phase composition by high concentrations of Ca and Fe, and low content of Si and Al. The data obtained testifies to the metasomatic origin and long duration ofturjaites formation.
