The detailed biostratigraphic subdivision of a complete and well-exposed Paleogene-Miocene section in the Ciscaucasia is substantiated on the basis of organic-walled phytoplankton, spores, and pollen. The distinguished regional dinocyst zonation for the second half of the Eocene and for the Oligocene and lower Miocene shows the direct interlinking of zonal units and is correlated with the West and Central European zonal scales with the help of indicated microphytofossils.
