The paper sets out to determine the influence of various factors on the metal resources of hydrothermal systems in the ocean on the basis of a combined analysis of the results of an investigation of natural objects and experimental and theoretical modelling. The study considered the effect of temperature, pressure, boiling, the rock-water ratio and the influence of the 'lifespan' of the hydrothermal system. Conclusions are presented about the influence of each of these factors. It is noted that thermodynamic modelling was the most informative method.
