One of the world's largest Karelian trap province of Jatulian age (2.3-2.06 Ga) has been distinguished within the eastern Baltic Shield [1]. Flood basalts, sills, and dikes of the trap province found within Karelian and Kola structural provinces have not been reliably identified in the Belomorian province, which represents a deep crustal section of the Precambrian mobile belt.
