О РАСПРОСТРАНЕННОЙ ОШИБКЕ В ТРАКТОВКЕ КРИСТАЛЛИЧЕСКОЙ СТРУКТУРЫ АПАТИТА

Abstract

Pictures and description of the apatite structure published initially in the well known N. V. Belov's monograph were later reprinted many times in numerous national handbooks of mineralogy. But there is a wrong attribution of coordination polyhedron in form of trigonal prism to all calcium atoms. In reality the coordination polyhedron for calcium atoms lying within the horizontal symmetry plane forms the pentagonal bipyramid. The paper shows real plan of the apatite structure in cationic polyhedra.
