dc.description.abstractThe paper reports the computer realization of an algorithm (based on the Minkovsky theorem) to build a crystal polyhedron from the indices and areas of its faces. As an example, there is shown dependence of shape of the almandine crystal (Makzapakhk deposit, West Keyvy, Kola Peninsula) on the interrelations between areas of its faces. This algorithm may be used for description of the non-ideal crystals also: in such cases, there is sufficient to input into consideration some fictitious (conditional) faces masking natural impcrfectness of crystal shapes and complementing them up to full-faced crystals.
