In 1985 for the first time in eastern Siberia, while studying the mineralogy and the geochemistry of the area around the Zharchikhinskoye molybdenum deposit in the central ore district, Buryat ASSR, we found and later investigated davidite, a fairly rare mineral that has a complex, variable composition and was very closely associated with chevkinite. Both minerals are described in this report.
