dc.description.abstractThe Lower Aptian brachiopods from the Mountainous Mangyshlak, represented by 16 species in 9 genera, are studied for the first time. Three new species - Septatoechia savelievi sp. nov., Burrirhynchia luppovi sp. nov., and Praelongithyris transcaspia sp. nov. - and two species characteristic of the region, Cyrtothyris cantabridgiensis (Walker) and C. seeleyi (Walker), previously only known from England, are described.
