dc.description.abstractFour types of heliolitoid cormidia are established and characterized. Cormidia occur in 4 orders, 6 families, 27 genera, and 103 species. The heliolitoids with cormidia, as well as the entire subclass Heliolitoidea, reached their maximum level of diversity in the Middle-Late Silurian (Wenlock, Ludlow, and Přídolí .
