The results of the study of cores from the Nyurol'skaya Basin with electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) are discussed. Judging from relationship between the V and C concentrations in the cores, the rocks are composed of secondary-cemented broken Paleozoic material. The intensity of carbon peak in the EPR spectra is correlated with the hydrocarbon content determined by independent methods. The application of EPR method to the study of rocks makes it possible to determine paramagnetic admixtures therein.
