The paper presents the first data on hydrogen solubility in albite melt at 1300° C and hydrogen partial pressures as high as 5 kb. The corresponding tests were run in a high-gas-pressure unit with internal heating and a special hydrogen reactor. The uncertainty of temperature determination in them was ±5° C, and the relative error of measuring the hydrogen partial pressure ±1 percent. In these tests, the method of constant-pressure quenching, so widely employed in investigating the solubilities of H2O and CO2 in melts, was used. Study materials, methods and results are discussed.
