dc.description.abstractMechanism of development of area of induced gas permeability has been considered. The area arises in initially non-permeable coal seam. It has been shown that shrinkage of coal and rock pressure are the determining factors. It has been found that stable development of the area of gas permeability and finish of this process depend on geomechanical conditions. Other phenomena have been discussed. This is connected with necessity to determine regularities in evolution of nature system of 'coal - methane'. This will make it possible to solve one of current problems in fuel and energy complex, commercial production of methane.
