STRUCTURAL ZONING OF POLYFACIES METAMORPHIC COMPLEXES IN SOUTHEAST SIBERIA

Abstract

One of the forms in which the relationship between tectonic deformation and metamorphism is expressed is structural and metamorphic zoning, i.e., the regular variation of structural parageneses and deformation styles of rocks with the parameters of their metamorphism. In this article, the authors give examples of such zoning in metamorphic complexes of three different types: 1) the Slyudyanka granulite complex, 2) the Khamar Daban complex with andalusite- and sillimanite-type zoning, 3) the Patom complex with kyanite- and sillimanite-type zoning.
