The integral stratigraphic scheme for the Lower Paleozoic (Lower Cambrian to Middle Ordovician) is considered on the basis of new finds of organic remains in the Kursai (small shally fossils), Karagaily (algae, trilobites, brachiopods, conodonts, sponges, small shally fossils, and others), and Kirtabulga (trilobites, grapt-olites, conodonts, algae) formations. These finds furnished an opportunity to reliably correlate the individual sections, compile an integral regional stratigraphic scheme, substantiate the local biostratigraphic zonation, perform the interregional correlation, and confirm the autochtonous position of the Cambrian-Ordovician deposits in question.
