PALYNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CENOZOIC COAL-BEARING DEPOSITS, THE SNEZHNOGORSKII LOCALITY IN THE VERKHNYAYA ZEYA BASIN

Abstract

Cenozoic coal-bearing deposits of the Verkhnyaya Zeya basin are of economic interest in the basin marginal areas, where some beds are suitable for open mining of brown coal. The exploratory work at the Snezhnogorskii coal measures was accompanied by analytical and palynological investigations. The study provided new data on the geological structure, stratigraphy and coal reserves in the southwestern area of the Verkhnyaya Zeya basin.
