The Famennian sediments of the southern Transcaucasia are described. The Noravank and Ertich formations are referred to the lower substage of the Famennian, the Kadrli and Shamamidzor formations, to the middle one, and the Gortun and Arshakiakhbyur formations, to the upper substage. The Devonian-Carboniferous boundary was placed at the base of the Gerankalasy Formation in accord with resolution of the ISC Commission on the Devonian and Carboniferous (Minsk, 1986). All groups of organic remains encountered in the Famennian sediments of the Transcaucasia are analyzed.
